May 7 Local Election
The City of Garland will hold a May 7 general election to elect City Council members for Districts 2 and 5. 

Early voting will continue through Tuesday, May 3. Early voting locations and other information will be listed by the Dallas County Elections Department

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 2, Tuesday, May 3, and Saturday, May 7. Garland residents may vote at any polling place in Dallas County. Learn more

PSRW has been celebrated since 1985 as a nationwide public education campaign honoring the men and women who serve as federal, state, county and local government employees.

Band Together on the Square Concert Series
Downtown Garland has a diverse musical experience that will go great with your carefree summer vibe.

Join us every Friday evening from May through September for one of the best concert series of the summer!

Sounds of Summer Concert Series Returns Thursday, May 12
Garland’s Sounds of Summer Concert Series returns with 7 p.m. events every other Thursday from May 12 through July 21.

The series kicks off May 12 at Audubon Park with Grady Spencer and The Work, whose foundation is country with a beautiful mix of folk, rock, soul, and a whole lot of honesty about life, hard work, and being "Down but Blessed."

Along with presenting partner Veritex Bank and artist sponsor Jimmy Wallace Guitars, the City is proud to feature touring on-the-rise artists and lively entertainers who are sure to blow you away with talent and get you dancing.

Cinco de Mayo Celebration Sunday, May 8
The Cinco de Mayo festival is just around the corner!

Bring the whole family out for a day of fun at this fiesta from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday, May 8, at Winters Park Amphitheater, 1419 Spring Creek Drive.

Enjoy food vendors, a car show, live music and performances, and more!
Teen Advisory Board Meeting at the Library Thursday, May 12
Teens ages 13 to 17 can make a difference in their community by joining the Garland Library Teen Advisory Board. Teens will discuss how the library can serve their age group in terms of events, materials and services. Participants will receive volunteer hours for attending.

Meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month at the Central Library, 625 Austin St.

Teens who apply for board membership need parental consent and must attend two consecutive meetings and a total of eight meetings per year to officially serve as members.

The Garland City Council Work Session will begin at 6 p.m. Monday, May 2. Regular Meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, at City Hall, 200 N. Fifth St.

Boards & Commissions Meetings
All upcoming Boards & Commissions meetings can be found on the Public Meetings calendar at GarlandTX.gov.

In-person meetings have resumed, but you can continue to watch the meetings online.
