CPV Awarded State Approval For Solar Farm In Garrett County
The Maryland Public Service Commission has granted Competitive Power Ventures (CPV) permission o construct and operate the 200 MWdc Backbone Solar Farm (CPV Backbone) on former Vindex/Arch Coal mining sites north of the town of Kitzmiller, Maryland. The new solar farm will be sited on approximately 1,170 acres of the property. Construction is expected to begin later this year. Read more.

The Tri-County Council for Western Maryland (TCCWMD) is offering businesses located in Allegany, Garrett and Washington counties low interest financing through Summit Financing Solutions Revolving Loan Fund Program. Eligible loan purposes include business acquisition, business start-up costs, building improvements, equipment purchases, and working capital. Interest rates are as low as 0% for the first 12 months.
