New Owners of Verso Luke Mill to Hold Online Equipment/Vehicle Auction

Oakland Couple Win First Place in Power of Possibilities' Business Plan Competition
Oakland residents Fred and Cindy Bakken, owners of Dunderbakken, were awarded first place with a $1,000 cash prize for their plan to manufacture precision parts, made to customer specifications, using both manual and computerized machining equipment and 3D printing. Second and third place winners, all of Oakland, were Danny and Ingrid Bucci of D&I Lawn and Landscaping and John Fowler for his business plan, Community Benefits Administration LLC. Read more.
Low Interest Financing for Western MD Businesses
The Tri-County Council for Western Maryland (TCCWMD) is offering businesses located in Allegany, Garrett and Washington counties low interest financing through Summit Financing Solutions Revolving Loan Fund Program. Eligible loan purposes include business acquisition, business start-up costs, building improvements, equipment purchases, and working capital. Interest rates are as low as 0% for the first 12 months.
