This year's Gaslight Teen show is a comedy called Everybody Love Opal, directed by new Gaslight Teen sponsor, Tammy Wilson and Assistant Directed by Bailey Wilson. Bailey Wilson is also acting as set designer. This is Tammy's directorial debut at the Gaslight, having Assistant Directed The Audition, which was taken taken to the Oklahoma Community Theatre Association's annual competition.
Opal Kronkie is a middle aged recluse that lives in a tumbledown mansion near the city dump. The general disarray of her establishment is aggravated by the fact that she "collects things" - anything she can tote home in her little red wagon, she does. Hilarity ensues when three up to no good scam artists on the run from the police show up at her house and concoct an elaborate scheme to get their hands on Opal's money. There are lessons to be learned for everyone, though.
The cast: Gabi Nelson, Joshua Beebe, Nolan Riggin, Carol Jarrett, Wyatt Wilson, Peyton Wilson and Simon the Cat.
The Emperor's New Clothes
Jan 23 & 25 at 7pm
CHILDREN’S THEATRE AUDITIONS for “The Emperor’s New Clothes” are being held Monday and Wednesday, January 23 & 25th at 7pm on stage at Gaslight.  This is a highly entertaining adaption of the popular Hans Christian Anderson fable about the pitfalls of vanity & greed.  Director Carmen Ball is looking for 7-12 actors ages 15 and over to tell this clever story.  There are fun parts from the conceited fussy Emperor to his down-to-earth royal Grandmother to the two swindler/tailors, Zim and Zam.  Scripts are available for checkout from the box office.  Those interested in working backstage or on costumes, please contact Carmen at or before auditions.  This comedy is perfect for the whole family and performances are March 4-5, 11-12.
