"I had to move back to the city where my parents were", my friend said. "No, you chose to move back", I replied. "No", she corrected me, "I had to move back!" Again, I told her, "You chose to move there" as I reminded her that she had control of her life and the situation did not!
My friend was in a place where there was no hope. She felt like a victim of her circumstance with nowhere to turn. With this mindset, she wasn't able to enjoy her new home and where she had settled into. God provided a job for her and friends to stand with her but she was not able to appreciate them until she realized she had made a choice to go back. By doing so she took control and stopped allowing it to victimize her.
Soon my friend got acquainted with Anna's Gate. As we taught principles such as, "Don't complain about what you permit!" she got stronger! She had a choice to either permit it or change it! Complaining gave power to the problem! "Praise Him in all things" was another principle that she began to do. "What you focus on, you move towards" was another truth she recognized. My friend started to take control of her thought life and where she was putting her attention. As she focused through praise she found "hope" rising for she knew an answer was coming! Situations began to shift as praise replaced complaining! She began to agree with Heaven's view on things, praying the answer instead of the problem! The Gateway was opening wider and wider!
The things she wanted to be bitter over changed as she saw the good in even the most painful situations! My friend chose to forgive releasing those who hurt her but most importantly releasing herself from its bitter control!
Slowly truth replaced lies! The devil had told her she couldn't trust God because painful events had happened in her life. She learned that it rains on the just and the unjust and "Life happens!" If you are breathing, things happen because we live in a fallen world! "Don't get mad at God but embrace it, pick up praise that He is greater and watch Him use it for your good!" Knowing and obeying truth made the difference!
The lie was that she was alone and abandoned! As she saw that God had helped her through all of this, she knew she wasn't alone or abandoned! She began to believe truth from the Word of God. He said that He would never leave her or forsake her! She chose to believe it and hope increased even more!
Jeremiah 29:11 says, "I say this because I know what [the plans] I am planning for you," says the Lord. "I have ·good plans for you [plans for your peace/security], not plans to hurt you [for your harm]. I will give you hope and a good future." We either trust Him and His word or not! We must agree with His Word to have hope. When we agree, it opens the gateway to receive! He promised to give us hope and a good future! It's not up to us to muster it up, but to simply chose to believe and agree! A gateway is a transitioning from one place to another. It will take us from lies to truth, from pain into healing and from hopelessness into a good future. It's a gateway of hope!
