Easter Picnic Highlights
Last Sunday, Family Ministries hosted a wonderful Easter picnic following the service. It was a joyful time filled with egg hunts, fellowship, and seeing our church family come together in community. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a special gathering!

Palm Sunday Highlights
Children from preschool through fifth grade participated in our Palm Sunday Procession of the Palms. This meaningful tradition helped us remember Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem as the children led the way into worship. It was a wonderful moment of celebration and a beautiful reminder of the spirit of the season.

Holy Grill by the Interfaith Federation of Greater Baton Rouge
University UMC has been volunteering for The Holy Grill, one of several programs sponsored by the Interfaith Federation of Greater Baton Rouge, for decades. UUMC volunteers will next serve at The Holy Grill the week of April 13-17, Monday through Friday.
The Federation delivers food around noon to the Cadillac Street BREC Park gym (6117 Cadillac St., Baton Rouge, LA 70811) in Zion City, an area north of Airline Highway and east of the airport. Four or five volunteers a day is an optimal crew. Some folks coordinate to carpool from the church, leaving at about 11:20 a.m. and returning by about 1 p.m. Other volunteers prefer to drive directly to the facility. Holy Grill asks that volunteers arrive at the facility no later than 11:45 a.m.
Please register if you would like to serve as a volunteer for this meaningful mission outreach. In addition to serving food, we have the opportunity to connect with and learn about our community and these beloved children of God.
If you have trouble registering on your phone, try registering from your laptop or computer. For any questions, please call Marolon Mangham at (225) 324-9527.

Our 2nd grade mentors and mentees practice teamwork, coordination, and hand-eye motor skills by playing good old-fashioned games like Hot Potato and Connect Four. These games are great for connecting the young and young of heart!

Sermon Series: Tell Me Something Good
Lent was originally a season for new converts to prepare for baptism by learning what was central to Christianity, and in this series we explore what was central to Jesus’ life and ministry: radical welcome, love for neighbor, care for the vulnerable and nourishment for the hungry. At the heart of Jesus’ teachings, we find liberation, love, mercy, and grace—good news meant for all, though not always comfortable. This Lent, we remember that the good news is truly good: joyful, nourishing, and alive in the world. We hope this series roots our hearts in God’s expansive goodness and inspires us to live as people who bring hope, love, and action into a world longing for what is good.
