Gathering This Sunday, Jan. 13
Something Utterly New
Katie Kinnison Preaching

Linked to the past but radically new.
Isn’t this the path of creation?  Doesn’t this describe each of us? So much like one or both parents, yet clearly not them. Some new being, radically new.  Doesn’t this describe the course of our lives after momentous events? Related to what came before, but, oh, this, my dear, is  new .
So how are we to understand Jesus? Not the relatively uncomplicated baby in the manger that everyone loves, but this prophet-and-then-some who burst into the scene in the Roman Empire of the first century – which, by the way, we declared to be the first century because he was born!
Join me in considering how we might engage the life of this man who we have called Lord and Savior
Yours in the Journey,

ANGST. Do you suffer from anxiety? Does your child? Partner? Learn how to cope and find hope. One could make the case that anxiety is the most prevalent 21st Century disease afflicting the United States – certainly it is doing its best to cripple our youth. As people of God and the body of Christ, we have important insights and practices within our theology and tradition that can help us manage the anxiety that affect us and our children. It is time to reclaim this knowledge and to begin to share it. It is time to come to the defense of our children. Youth and adults, join us for this important film and discussion...a film about anxiety, truth, coping and hope. Candid interviews with real teens about anxiety. Contact Katie Kinnison or Erin Wise.
*ALSO...Join us for Parenting Together , Tues., Jan. 22, 5:30pm, Lounge

2019 Per Capita is $35.75 Per Member
Each member of Covenant is also a member of the larger church, the Presbyterian Church USA. As such, it is part of our responsibility to support the work of the administrative bodies of the national church – the General Assembly, the Synod, and the Presbytery. We do this by making a per capita payment each January. The per capita for 2019 is $35.75 per member, for a total payment due of $21,093. This figure is based upon our church membership roll as of Dec. 31, 2017. We invite you to pay your share of the per capita so that this money does not need to come from this year’s budget. Your contribution will free up funds for other vital church programs that meet the spiritual needs of our congregation. Envelopes are on the welcome table.  Click here to securely give online.
Want to receive your quarterly
statement of giving electronically?
Emailing statements is much less expensive for the church, provides quicker delivery to you, and you can save and print your statement for your files. Please reply back to Ingrid Smith if you are interested in an email copy of your statement of giving at .
Don't Forget to Pick Up Your Picture Directory
If you haven't already done so, please pick up your copy of the member directory in the hall this Sunday. Look for the label with your name and start meeting and learning about your church family. Soon, you’ll receive info on how to access this directory on the new app on your phone.
