This Sunday Dec. 16
3rd Sunday of Advent
Going Crazy Yet?
Jim Mehler Preaching
Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat -- probably not so with all the Christmas revelers making preparations for the celebration. In past years, making Christmas cookies, I always seem to add a few LBS. And then there were the cookie exchanges; oh my. It may not be easy to find some time to hit the pause button this time of year -- but it might be the reason there are 4 Sundays in Advent. Time to pause, to reflect, to leave the cultural customs aside and focus on ... well, to focus on something else. A favorite Christmas Carol goes like this: "Angels we have heard on high, tell us to go out and buy!" Not here. Not today. It's worship.
