Hello Neighbor,

The City Council is gearing up for a busy fall with public hearings and important legislation on the horizon. In the meantime, my office — including our dedicated community team — are here for you. If you ever have questions, concerns, or ideas, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Like many parents, Phuong and I are adjusting to another school year. Alynna and Oliver have had a great start, and I’m wishing all of our students, teachers, staff, and parents a fantastic year ahead.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Warm regards,

Councilmember Kent Lee

Have you received this letter from the City of San Diego in the mail? Property owners receiving City trash and recycling services are being asked to enroll in a new customer portal by September 30, 2025.

The City’s Environmental Services Department is updating trash services, including transitioning eligible households to City-provided trash collection. Mailers have been sent with instructions and unique login details specific to each property.

Wildfire Season in San Diego

Here in San Diego, wildfire season is no longer a few months out of the year — it’s every month. With an above-normal fire risk expected through October, the City is taking proactive steps to prepare, and I encourage all of us to do the same.

Visit sandiego.gov/wildfire for tips on creating defensible space around your home, making an evacuation plan, and learning more about our Ready, Set, Go! campaign.

Let’s all do our part to stay safe and keep our community protected.
