Library staff are gearing up for a fun-filled summer for kids of all ages as we get ready to Unearth a Story! This month explore Danville's history on the Iron Baby Angel and Danville Neighborhoods Walking Tours with the Story Center.

Join us in Junction City to make a DIY Flower Tote Bag. Learn the art of Floral Arrangements at the next Just Try It program. At the end of the month, check out the Story Center's upcoming history exhibit "It Happened Here: The Political Club of Danville".

Of course the big event of the month is the all-ages Summer Reading Kickoff Party on May 27. See details below. We'll also be having a Summer Kickoff at the Farmers Market event in front of the Story Center on May 30. Stop by and play lawn games with us!

Summer Reading Kickoff Party

Join us at the library on May 27 from 5:30-8 PM as we kick off Summer Reading with an all-ages party! Enjoy an evening of fun and games!

FREE activities during the Kickoff Party include: Inflatable 40’ obstacle course; a giant 20’ slide; Leaps & Bounds obstacle course; arcade-style games; a live wrestling demonstration by Elite Wrestling Alliance; a Splash Zone for toddlers, and more! A sensory-friendly room and sensory kits will be available inside the library on Level 1. Plus you can pick up a summer calendar of events to find out what's happening all summer long. Join us at Morley's Backyard on May 13 to make Retro Crafts! At this throwback event, we'll have Perler Beads & Shrinky Dinks, and will be making beaded bracelets, key chains, and more! (Ages 18+) Learn more!

We're going on the road to Junction City on May 18 to make flower tote bags using a technique known as flower pounding to create unique botanical prints. Each bag will be a one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art! (All Ages) Learn more!
