Every Woman's Place for Support, Connections and Community.
Gearing up for the Holidays
Every year, the Women's Centre hosts a Toy Room Program for two weeks before Christmas. Women are welcome to come in and choose a gift for their children and themselves with the help of volunteers. Last year, over 3,000 women and children accessed the Toy Room program. Just over 1,000 of those were in the first three days of the program.
The Women's Centre struggles to provide adult women and teens with gifts as well. If you're interested in hosting a toy drive or collecting women's gifts with friends or coworkers, let us know! Connect with Sarelle at 403-264-1155 or
email@example.com. More information is available
on our website.
Thank you for attending the Volunteer Appreciation Party! The Women's Centre is dedicated to building community, and volunteers are at the core of this vision. Check out photos from the event here.
Ways to Connect
Basic Needs Update
Ever wonder what a typical day looks
like at the Women's Centre? We've compiled some statistics from the last month to show you what happens in just one of the
three program areas, Basic Needs.
Read more about how many women visited the Centre for these programs and services
on our blog.
And she's off! Marie-Eve will be moving to Ottawa in just a few days. After two years at the Centre in a variety of positions, she's ready to take on something new. Thank you for your hard work and we'll miss you very much! There will be an informal farewell on Wednesday, Nov 4th at 4pm.
Our workshops are free and open to all women. Click
here to see the complete November calendar.
As part of our monthly Social Issues Discussion Series, advocate Jennifer Sputek will speak on women's experiences with the criminal justice system, the criminalization of poverty, and what can be done to support women trying to break the cycle of incarceration.
Your body, your self! | Nov 19, 6-8pm How do you see your body? What does beautiful, powerful, and acceptable look like? This is a workshop for women of all ages to explore body image, demystify social norms, and feel stronger in their own skin.
No children in these workshops please.
