Dear Lovely Printers,
Thank you so much for coming out to print with me on Monday evening. I hope that some of you may have been bitten by the printing bug!
If you'd like to receive my once a month newsletter please feel free to signup by clicking here.
I hope you feel more comfortable with Gelli plate printing. It’s a monotype print technique - you don’t need fancy printing press equipment, just a gelatin plate, paper, paint and a brayer.
This is a BIG email with (hopefully) all the material link information you might want and need.
Please feel free to reach out to me with questions anytime.

Material Resources:
There’s usually more than one place that I buy things--depending on the price, if I have a coupon or if I get enough and the shipping is free and available (I need it today!). My usual go-to’s are Michael’s, Dick Blick, and Amazon.
Paints:
We used Liquitex Basic Acrylic paints available at Michaels and most craft stores and online at Dick Blick.
And I recommend trying the Golden Fluid Acrylics as well - great viscosity and pigment load.

Brayers:
They come in a variety of widths - We used the Speedball brand 4” soft brayer.

Gelli Plate:
There are 3 brands:
The original which is what you used in class (the student plate is slightly thinner than the regular plate)
https://www.gelliarts.com/
The 2nd brand is https://gelpress.com/ - I like the plate just as much as the Gelli Arts.
The 3rd is made by Speedball- called GEL and I’ve not read good things about it though-- I’ve never used it.
Michaels carries the Gelli Arts Brand (if you use a coupon you can get it for less than the regular price of $28)
Paper:
We used 9” by 12” 80lb White Drawing paper from Dick Blick. It comes in packages of 100 sheets or a “ream” of 500 sheets. There are a variety of sizes and thicknesses (weights) as well.

Deli paper: so many different sizes are available and some are more water resistant than others.
These are the ones I brought to class:
