It is hard to believe, but Virginia’s legislative session is almost over. This week, a small group of legislators from the House and Senate began negotiating a final, “conference” budget. We need to ensure that our remaining policy priorities are included in this budget.
Please take five minutes and ask these key legislators to include Item 200 #2h and Item 288 #7s in the conference budget. The first item will help Virginia Community College System dental hygiene programs recruit and retain clinical faculty. The second item directs a committee of legislators to explore options to preserve Medicaid coverage for the expansion population – acknowledging policy proposals circulating at the federal level that would drastically impact funding for Medicaid.
