General Conference 2025

Discussion Circle Pack

Discussion Circles are open to anyone in MCC.

The UFMCC General Conference is a time when God’s people from all over the world gather to discern together God’s will for God’s church. We do this through prayer, thoughtful discussion and a willingness to hear perspectives different from our own.

The UFMCC bylaws set out the deadlines for receiving bylaw proposals. The Governing Board set similar deadlines for receiving motions, to allow time for translation and initial discussion. The deadlines for receiving any items to be discussed at the General Conference Business meeting have now passed. This Discussion Pack contains the bylaw amendment proposals and motions received by the Governing Board.

Please use this LINK to access the Discussion Pack, which includes the two (2) bylaw amendment proposals, two motions, and the dates of the various Discussion Circles.

Discussion Circle Dates

General Conference 2025

The following dates for Discussion circles have been set in consultation with input from Network leaders, MCC staff and others around the world. You can attend any Discussion Circle and you may attend more than one. In fact, participating in a Discussion Circle that targets a different time zone provides an opportunity for you to connect with others in our global community. This site may be helpful to compare time zones - https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html. [There will be no interpretation provided, however all the comments will be translated afterwards into English, Spanish, Portuguese and German].

Overview of the Business Meeting Process

In order to give as many people as possible a chance to contribute to the discussion before the Business Meeting, the business process will be in four stages. More details will be provided with the business packet, which will come out just after Easter. This is a MUST read for Lay Delegates and Clergy.

The MCC Business Meeting has four stages:

  • Discussion Circles - February & early March
  • Business Forum - 31st May
  • Business Meeting - 7th June
  • Virtual Voting - following the Business meeting

You can find a brief overview of the process with this LINK.

Lay Delegate Workshops

We are excited to launch a series of workshops designed to empower and equip lay leaders within MCC. These interactive sessions will focus on essential skills like leadership development, effective communication, and preparing for General Conference.

To accommodate participants globally, each workshop will be held twice, allowing attendees to choose the session that best fits their schedule. The first workshops, tentatively scheduled for the 7th and 8th of February, will focus on "Understanding Your Role as a Lay Delegate and Preparing for the Journey." We’d love for you to join us! Please take a moment to complete this form to share your information and reserve your spot. Don’t miss this opportunity to grow as a leader and strengthen connections across our community!
