General Counsel for the RCSD Retiring, New Appointment Made
The Rochester City School District would like to congratulate Karl Kristoff, General Counsel, on his retirement from the District. Mr. Kristoff’s last day with the District is Monday, November 30. He has served as the General Counsel for the Rochester City School District since December of 2016. 

Mr. Kristoff has practiced law since 1968. He served in private practice as a general partner at Hodgson Russ LLP, a law firm in Buffalo, where he specialized in dispute resolution and also led the employment, benefits, and immigration practice areas. He also served as part of the firm’s education law practice group. 

In addition, Mr. Kristoff has worked for approximately 90 school districts in New York, where he was involved in every aspect of education law, including numerous matters that were argued before the Commissioner of Education and in State and Federal courts. 

He also served with honor in the United States Air Force and the Air National Guard. 

Steven Carling has been appointed as Acting General Counsel. Please join the Rochester City School District in wishing Karl Kristoff all the best on his well-deserved retirement.
