General Membership Meeting & Sea Bag Sale
Friday, February 15, 2019

Looking forward to hearing from our guest speaker, Dr. Chris Lowe. Dr. Lowe is a professor in marine biology and Director of the Shark Lab at California State University Long Beach, where he and his students work with acoustic and satellite telemetry techniques to study the movement, behavior and physiology of sharks, rays and gamefishes. This should prove to be VERY interesting.

Our Junior Fleet is hosting the evening and will include a 50/50 Drawing and promote the selling of Sea Bags .

JUNIOR NEWS 2019
Happy Thursday ABYC Sailors!
We are very excited for the upcoming programs and regattas for the juniors here at ABYC in the coming months. Head on over to  abyc.org/junior-home  to see what's going on!

This Past Week’s Events:
Unfortunately, the SoCal #4 regatta was cancelled with consideration for the weather forecast. It looked to be the right call, with winds gusting over 55mph here at the club. Another day, another regatta! Our HS Teams will be back out on the water every week and then will be traveling to San Francisco at the end of this month! We had a few sailors take the trip down to San Diego to learn from the world's best match racing teacher! Dave Perry put on his annual SODA Match Racing Clinic in conjunction with SDYC, and all of our sailors are excited to continue their learning in this unique field of our sport.

This Upcoming Week:
This weekend looks like it is going to be a fantastic opportunity for our Optimist Sailors! Del Rey Yacht Club is hosting this weekend, and with the forecast pushing rain back to Sunday evening, it looks like we will just hit the window for some dry sailing! Stay tuned for the results in next week's update!

Events On the Horizon:
For everything else, go check out  ABYC's Spring Program Schedules posted here . Don't forget to print yours out and post it on the fridge. Never miss a date again!
