Dear Colleagues and Community Members,

Welcome to November! I hope you've been able to enjoy the transition of seasons and the beautiful, if temperamental, fall weather. This is a month where we celebrate gratitude and recognize the importance of justice, the weight of history, and the potential of service.

Here at General Sessions, our team just celebrated the end of our "Freshman Year" with a generative staff retreat where we reconnected and reaffirmed our commitment to this work and our mission to serve the people of Shelby County.

In our Freshman Year we've scored some amazing wins: Our Civil team has gone above and beyond in decreasing our backlog, we've processed a record level of expungements, and we're bringing massive technological and process innovations to the General Sessions Court.

I'm excited to share more updates with you below, and I can't wait to show you what we have in store for you in our Sophomore Year!

In Service,

Tamara A. Sawyer

Shelby County General Sessions Court Clerk
