COUNCIL NEWS

As #NationalVolunteerWeek draws to a close, we're grateful for the incredible volunteers who've brightened our days and touched countless lives of our clients. From Kevin, spreading joy with Meals on Wheels, to Geri, bringing warmth to our adult day healthcare program, each volunteer embodies the spirit of selflessness and compassion. As we celebrate our last few volunteers of the week, let's carry their inspiration forward, continuing to make a difference in our community. Thank you to all our volunteers for your dedication and kindness. Together, we truly make the world a brighter place!

Thank you to all the vendors and community members who came out to SPRING COMMUNITY RESOURCE EXPO! We had a great time and wanted to thank our all of our sponsors: Prescriptions Unlimited, Toho Water, Transition House, and Centerwell!

Congratulations to our prize winners. We hope to see you all in the Fall!

Thank you Florida Department of Elder Affairs for taking the time to visit and acknowledge the dedication of our employees! It's heartening to see the efforts of the Osceola Council On Aging and Community Legal Services being recognized for their service to the State of Florida and their commitment to our beloved Florida seniors.

Exciting news from Creative Inspiration Journey School! Liliana Coutinho from 1st grade secured the People's Choice Award of our Virtual School Rotary Art Contest with an impressive 127 votes, while Olivia Salas, also in 1st grade, was the runner-up with 115 votes. Together, they earned a total of $1,210, showcasing their incredible talent and community support. A big thank you to all the parents who allowed us to share photos and names. Today, we had a special visit to the school, where Liliana and Olivia were celebrated. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Give the gift of your time!

As we approach National Volunteer Week from April 21 to 27, 2024, we're gearing up to celebrate the incredible spirit of volunteerism that drives our organization. Last year, we were fortunate to have 1080 dedicated volunteers who collectively contributed an astounding 30,053 volunteer hours.

To all our volunteers, past and present, we extend our deepest gratitude for your unwavering commitment to making a difference in our community.

As we commemorate this special week, we also wish to highlight a pressing need within the Council on Aging Meals on Wheels program. Our team of volunteers currently provides home delivered meals to over 350 individuals throughout the week with at least 60 new requests every month!  We are currently seeking volunteer drivers for routes in Celebration, Kissimmee and St. Cloud. Your commitment can be a few hours one day per week or more, based upon your ability and desire to serve. Your support will directly impact the lives of those we serve, and together, we can continue to spread kindness and make a positive impact.

Should you be interested in learning more, please contact Jo Ann Henry at (407) 846-8532, x 1213 or henryj@osceola-coa.com.
