Connecting generations: planning and implementing interventions for intergenerational contact
Ageism is highly detrimental to our health and well-being and imposes a heavy cost on societies. The World Health Organization (WHO) was requested to develop, in cooperation with partners, a global campaign to combat ageism.
This guide, developed for the campaign, builds on the evidence in the Global report on ageism that interventions for intergenerational contact is one of three strategies that have proven to work in addressing ageism, with policy and law and educational interventions.
It provides step-by-step guidance for anyone who is using or wishes to use intergenerational practice to combat ageism and to promote understanding and mutual respect among generations. Access the guide here.

Resource: Identifying and Engaging Untapped Partners to Support Kinship/Grandfamilies
On September 28, 2023, the U.S. Administration for Children and Families (ACF) issued a final rule that explicitly gives all Title IV-E child welfare agencies the option to use kin-specific foster care licensing or approval standards and encourages them to limit those standards to federal safety requirements. This change will allow more children to be cared for by those they know and love and be financially supported like children with non-kin foster parents. Access the resource here.
