Do Something Grand Throughout September
|
Last week, Generations United and our national partners did something grand! Our campaign asked, "How will you look at connecting generations differently this Grandparents Day?" Leading up to Grandparents Day, we elevated COVID-19 and racial equity resources. Our #DoSomethingGrand on Twitter had over 100 tweets and reached nearly 665,000. With our reach of nearly 317,000 Facebook profiles and nearly 20,000 Instagram accounts, our total social media reach was over 1 million accounts.
September is Intergenerational Month and Kinship Care Month. We're encouraging folks to continue to Do Something Grand. In summer 2020, StoryCorps recorded grandfamilies' stories of COVID-19 hardships and hopes. The participants are members of Generation United’s GRAND Voices Network. Listen to their stories.

Let the Great World Spin by Colum McCann
In the dawning light of a late-summer morning, the lower Manhattan's young and old people stand hushed, staring up in disbelief at the Twin Towers. In the streets below, a slew of ordinary lives become extraordinary. Learn more.
