This event targeted Latino older adults with the goal of vaccinating 1,000 people. It took the help of 30 college and high school students who volunteered to help get older neighbors signed up to get vaccinated at a drive-thru clinic in southwest Denver. Learn more.

NEW! Support for Community Gardens in the U.S. and Canada. The Nature's Path Gardens for Good program will award 21 grants of $5,000 each to community gardens that make fresh organic food more accessible in the local neighborhood. Deadline: March 24, 2021. Learn more.
NEW! J.M.K. Innovation Prize. This initiative of the J.M. Kaplan Fund, seeks to identify, support, and elevate innovators who are spearheading transformative early-stage projects in the United States. Each Prize will provide a cash award of $150,000 over three years, plus $25,000 in technical assistance funds. Deadline for first-round applications: April 30, 2021. NEW! Support for Youth-Led Service Projects. The Riley's Way Foundation's Call for Kindness program empowers young leaders throughout the country to use kindness and empathy to create meaningful connections and positive change. The program will provide grants of up to $3,000 to up to 30 teen-led projects in 2021. Deadline: April 7, 2021. Learn more.
RRF Foundation for Aging—which has awarded over 5,000 grants of more than $255 million—is accepting proposal applications for its next grant cycle in their priority areas: caregiving, economic security in later life, housing, social and intergenerational connectedness. The Upswing Fund for Adolescent Mental Health is a collaborative fund focusing on the mental health and well-being of adolescents who are of color and/or LGBTQ+. Created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has had a devastating impact on young people across the United States, The Upswing Fund will provide critical resources to front-line organizations that provide the services that young people rely on. NEW! Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder May Reduce Substantiated Cases of Child Abuse and Neglect. This new paper by the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE) within the Department of Health and Human Services on the relationship between buprenorphine treatment and child maltreatment. The paper finds, for the first time, that increase availability of buprenorphine treatment predicts reductions in certain types of child maltreatment case loads in 25 states. Learn more.
