Webinar Recording and Materials Available

The Georgetown University Center for Children and Families, Children's Trust Fund Alliance, FosterClub, and Generations United hosted a webinar on March 3 on how Medicaid supports parents in crisis, children in or youth aging out of foster care, relative caregivers, and adoptive families. Watch the webinar and hear individuals with personal experience, including Generations United's GRAND Voice Beth Patton, and experts in the field discuss Medicaid’s positive impact for families in crisis, and what you need to know about how current Congressional deliberations could impact this critical program.

Leveraging Family Resource Centers to Support Kinship Families

We partnered with the National Family Support Network to host learning collaboratives that sought to enhance the connection between Family Resource Centers and kinship navigators. The idea was to identify and address challenges in three selected states that provide services in urban, rural, and underserved communities: Alabama, Minnesota, and Ohio. This tip sheet presents key takeaways from those learning collaboratives.

Intergenerational Spotlight

All Seasons Preschool

The ARISE Program (ARts through Intergenerational Social Engagement), a newly designated Generation United Program of Distinction, is a five-week intergenerational program focused on storytelling through the fine arts. The mission of ARISE is to use storytelling though the fine arts to help reduce communication barriers and bias between different generations. Throughout the program, participants explore how theatre, music, dance, and the visual arts can help share personal stories to connect with others. Participants in the program include teens from central Ohio, undergraduate volunteers from various Ohio Universities, and the residents living at a retirement community and those served through At Home by High, one of the villages within Central Ohio. Learn more about the ARISE Program here.
