New Film Highlighted in CNN Story That Cites Generations United
CNN
cited us in a story about Present Perfect
, a new intergenerational documentary that explores the very real experience of aging in America - both growing up and growing old. The CNN article cites us on the number of intergenerational programs at long-term care facilities, senior centers and other facilities across the country. The article also highlights the film's director, Evan Briggs's, inspiration for making the film and her new Kickstart campaign to finish funding this worthwhile documentary. Learn more

Intergenerational Action on a Global Scale Meet Generations United's 2015 Award Recipients
We congratulated our recipients last month. Now, we're introducing them. Each week, we'll feature profiles of two recipients. First up...are Dr. Robert Putnam and Michelle Singletary!
Robert Putnam, our closing keynote speaker, is a distinguished political scientist best known for popularizing the concept of social capital - the collective value of our social networks. His recent book, Our Kids: The American Dream in Crisis, is a groundbreaking examination of the growing inequality gap affecting children and youth. Read the full profile.
Michelle Singletary often cites "Big Mama," her grandmother who raised her, in her nationally-syndicated personal finance column, "The Color of Money," which appears in The Washington Post on Wednesday and Sunday. Her award-winning column is syndicated by The Washington Post Writer's Group and is carried in more than 100 newspapers nationwide. Read the full profile.

Culture United
Grandfathers Are Like Gold
Grandfathers Are Like Gold offers gems of hard-earned wisdom, advice, and lighthearted humor by and in honor of grandfathers. Full of insight and wit, this book celebrates the delights of grandfatherhood -- from aging gracefully to spoiling grandchildren. Included are observations from well-known names, such as Garrison Keillor, Jimmy Carter, and Indira Gandhi; words of appreciation from grandkids of all ages; and heartfelt tributes to famous and not-so-famous heroes.
Do you know of any films, books, music and TV shows with an intergenerational theme? Share them with us and we'll share in the weeks and months to come. Disclaimer: Inclusion in this section is not an endorsement from Generations United. Rather, it is a way of showing the multiplying impact when the arts and pop culture are age-advantaged.
