Host a Watch Party for Nonnas, A Netflix Film About the Recipes & People That Keep Us Close
Generations United is proud to partner with 1Community on Stories from the Table, a campaign inspired by Nonnas. A joyful new comedy premiering May 9 on Netflix, the film is a celebration of food, family, and the wisdom passed down through generations.
Alongside The Grandmother Collective and Cogenerate, we're inviting individuals, families, and communities everywhere to host Nonnas watch parties and have meaningful conversations about aging and intergenerational connection.
Whether you're gathering in a living room, community center, or virtually, your watch party can be part of a bigger movement to bring people together, one story and one shared meal at a time.
Visit https://nonnas.1community.com to register to host your Nonnas watch party and download the discussion guide, and text NONNAS to 99234 for more updates.
We’re also pleased to announce a special viewing of Nonnas at our 2025 Global Intergenerational Conference in Louisville, Kentucky! Join us for this heartwarming celebration of family, food, and connection—plus, don’t miss our closing session featuring representatives from the film. Learn more about the conference.

The goal of this piece, and our May 14 webinar on this topic, is to share replicable ideas with others who want to provide supportive legal assistance to kinship families in their communities.

New Tool Available! WHO Ageism Scale: A New Way to Measure Ageism
Check out the newly released WHO Ageism Scale: an extensively tested tool designed to help you evaluate the impact of interventions aimed at reducing ageism. The WHO Ageism Scale was developed to measure the ageism experiences of individuals (in the WHO Ageism Experiences Scale) as well as people’s ageism towards older persons (in the WHO Ageism Towards Older Persons Scale). By encompassing the cognitive (stereotypes), affective (prejudice), and behavioral (discrimination) components of ageism, the scale serves as a robust tool for researchers, policymakers, clinicians, educators, and community members
seeking to assess age-based biases within and across diverse contexts. Access the WHO Ageism Scale.

"Watching our students interact with the seniors at Myers with such tenderness, care, and compassion was heart-warming. Their eagerness to continually return is truly inspiring. Both groups have benefited immensely from the connection and the mutual giving of themselves to others."
