Word from Co-Pastors
The church is a Jesus-centered, life-transforming, world-blessing community of people. In early January, we shared this sentence and said it would help frame our preaching and worship focus for at least the first part of 2021. For the last several weeks, we have talked about what it means for the church to be "Jesus-centered" - things like having grace-filled relationships; practicing radical hospitality; embodying humility and servanthood; and finding peace through the assurance of Jesus' power and presence.

With the beginning of Lent, we are transitioning into what it means for the church to be "life-transforming." How is my life being changed through following Jesus within the community of the church?  Lent is all about focused transformation. We pay attention to God at work in our lives; we reflect with intention on our habits and practices; we give things up or take things on as a way to encourage growth. In short, Lent is a season when we seek for the Holy Spirit to be at work in our lives....creating positive change in make us more like Christ.

We look forward to this season with you. Stay safe, stay warm, and stay connected to one another!

Grace and peace, Amber & Paul

Weather Updates!
We hope all of you are staying warm and have power restored. We know for many it has been a cold and challenging week. Just a couple of weather-related updates. The preschool and church office will remain closed the rest of the week, but both will reopen on Monday. We will return to in-person worship this Sunday for those choosing to join us in person!

Music Moments
When I started planning music for this new part of our series, “The Church is Life Transforming,” I started thinking about music that has helped to transform my Christian journey (still a way to go!) and music that has been instrumental in changing other people’s lives. If you have any old or new songs in this category that you would like featured in Music Moments through the middle of March please send your song information to

Our scripture this Sunday centers around the calling of the disciples. Choir, I immediately thought we would have sung “Any Road, Any Cost” by Point of Grace, arranged by Keith Christopher. (You can hear a partial demo if you go to and search the title.) I have included a summarized version of the text below and there is a link to the Point of Grace lyric video, (but I still miss singing the choral version!) I love the message of this song, and I think it speaks to us especially in this time of isolation and insulation. When Jesus calls us, we must start “leaving the safe and familiar” and start letting Jesus transform our lives and the lives of others!

Leaving the safe and familiar, with their hearts set on a heavenly prize.
There were some who laid down their nets, and some who laid
down their lives.
Not sure where they were going, but they did not have to know.
'Cause they knew who had called them, and they said, "We will go."
Down any road at any cost; wherever You lead we will follow.
Because we know that You've called us to take up our cross
Down any road, at any cost.
It may be fear that we're feeling, when we see what we must sacrifice,
But You promised You'll go with us, so we'll trust with our lives.
It's Your love that compels us to do what You've called us to do
and be completely abandoned to You.
Down any road at any cost, wherever You lead we will follow.
Because we know that You've called us to take up our cross
Down any road, at any cost.

Phone Problems

The church office is experiencing technical difficulties with the phone system. If you have tried calling the office after hours you have experienced this issue. Please be patient with us as we work through this problem. If you call the church office during the day, and don't get through, please try again. Currently, the voice mail system isn't working, nor is the rollover feature which allows us to receive more than one phone call at a time. We are working with our phone company and will update you on our progress. In the meantime, we kindly ask for your patience.

Generosity Notes
Memorial Fund

The Memorial Fund allows you to remember or honor a person or event by providing funds for a current ministry of the church. To offer a memorial or honor gift, you may contact the church, mark a gift accordingly or go to our website,
Genesis offers electronic giving, which allows you to make donations on a scheduled, automatic basis. To set up electronic contributions, (checking or savings account or credit or debit card) you can come by the church office and complete an authorization form or go to the church website and give online.

Another great way to give is with a quick text message! Simply send a text to 817-697-2824 with the amount you would like to contribute. Make sure to include the dollar sign before the amount. Within a few minutes, you’ll be sent a text with a link to register. Once your registration is complete you will receive a text verification and a receipt via email.

It is important to know that we can depend on financial support from our congregation members to continue the missions that Genesis provides to so many, as we go through the summer, fall and upcoming holidays.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact Troy Chapman at 817-292-4551 or email him at
