Word from Co-Pastors
Friends,

Despite all the winter weather we had a week ago, it's been two months since Christmas. Yet, I can't help but think about Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol when I read this week's gospel lesson in Luke 19: 1-10. Zacchaeus reminds me of Ebenezer Scrooge. A mizer who is transformed by love and becomes generous, perhaps for the first time in his life. Zacchaeus is our story of transformation this Sunday and the practice of transformation is generosity.

Your life may have been touched by someone who was generous to you. Take a moment and recall such a time and person, and say a prayer of thanks. Indeed, it is a blessing to receive gifts of generosity but, as Jesus said "It is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35)."

Each week during Lent, we will include a "Faith@Home" lesson for you to go deeper in Sunday's message. The activities are designed for all ages & stages, young and young at heart. Click below for the 1st Sunday's Faith@Home.

See you Sunday online or in-person!

Genesis Responds to the Needs of Others During Severe Weather

Church Member Jody Hoover responded to Mona Foster. Her kitchen was flooding and Jody repaired a hose under her sink. While working on the immediate problem, he discovered the disposal was not working and repaired that as well. Way to go Jody!

Acting on an urgent request from the Tarrant County Homeless Coalition, Staff member Troy Chapman bought and delivered warm blankets! .

And many of you checked on loved ones and served strangers, proving we can truly be the hands and feet of God.

Music Moments
Continue to send music suggestions to me, as we continue to explore life transforming moments both in Jesus’ ministry and today in our lives. If you have any old or new songs that have in some way provided a life-transforming moment for you, I would like to feature them in Music Moments through the middle of March. Please send your song information to:

Calling all contemporary singers and instrumentalists! You may be familiar with the Hymn-Sings and Christmas program we streamed in 2020 and now we are going to stream a Lent and Easter contemporary song service Sunday night, March 21! Please contact me at the e-mail above if you are interested in participating! Let’s see some new faces on the stream!!

Giving and Generosity will be two themes covered this Sunday, and although certainly needed, it is sometimes easier for us to give money or material goods than to invite others into our homes, lives and/or daily habits and routines. Going out of our way to accommodate, welcome and give generously to all people, not just our family or close friends, requires us to keep stretching past our current comfort-level!

The Prayer for Peace by St. Francis of Assisi is a wonderful example of what we should strive to do and be on an every-day basis and a beautiful choral arrangement of it is included here!

See you Sunday! - Robyn
Preparing to launch our high school Seniors!
We have several seniors who are preparing to transition from home and high school into their next chapter. So we've created a "Senior Transitions" small group that will aim to help them with the process.

We will be learning some "practical adulting" stuff together- and we could use your help! Want to share some easy recipes and show them how to use a crock pot? Want to provide some basic personal finance info on budgeting, credit cards, etc? Want to give them some basic car maintenance skills? This is a good inter-generational opportunity to help connect with and invest in our young people.

If you want to help, please contact Pastor Paul or Debbie Branch. Thanks!
Thank you to all who gave so generously to provide this week's meal
at TCU Wesley on Wednesday 2/24!

Top 5 Needs

Want more concrete ideas about ways to serve with Genesis? Check out these volunteer opportunities...

#1 - Easter Egg Hunt team- be a part of planning and/or implementation for this outdoor activity. We're 5 weeks away from Easter!

#2 - Neighbors Needs and Crowley House of Hope's greatest need is money to help purchase large quantities of food and to cover administrative fees to Tarrant Area Food Bank for food. Neighborhood Needs is serving over 8,500 individuals and CHH 1,300 each month. The past weather storm put a major issue with transportation delays in getting food to the area.

#3 - Sign up for Cowtown Brush -Up (Youth & Young Adult) for event to be held on April 10th.

#4 - Tarrant County Hand of Hope needs QT gift cards to pass out to people living in their vehicle to purchase gas/food. Gifts to be no larger than $10. Note on your check or on-line giving as Homeless Projects.

#5 - Crowley House of Hope needs more "shelf stable items." You may make donations to Genesis and notate "CHH" on your check or on-line giving. See Troy Chapman for additional information.

If you’re ready to get involved or want more information, please contact Linda Walker (linda@genesisumc.com

Working on Your Birthday?

Elizabeth Jack celebrated her 96th birthday while volunteering at the church. Thank you and
Happy Birthday Elizabeth!
Phone Problems

The church office is experiencing technical difficulties with the phone system. If you have tried calling the office after hours you have experienced this issue. Please be patient with us as we work through this problem. If you call the church office during the day, and don't get through, please try again. Currently, the voice mail system isn't working, nor is the rollover feature which allows us to receive more than one phone call at a time. We are working with our phone company and will update you on our progress. In the meantime, we kindly ask for your patience.

Generosity Notes
Memorial Fund

The Memorial Fund allows you to remember or honor a person or event by providing funds for a current ministry of the church. To offer a memorial or honor gift, you may contact the church, mark a gift accordingly or go to our website, www.genesisumc.com
Genesis offers electronic giving, which allows you to make donations on a scheduled, automatic basis. To set up electronic contributions, (checking or savings account or credit or debit card) you can come by the church office and complete an authorization form or go to the church website and give online.

Another great way to give is with a quick text message! Simply send a text to 817-697-2824 with the amount you would like to contribute. Make sure to include the dollar sign before the amount. Within a few minutes, you’ll be sent a text with a link to register. Once your registration is complete you will receive a text verification and a receipt via email.

It is important to know that we can depend on financial support from our congregation members to continue the missions that Genesis provides to so many, as we go through the summer, fall and upcoming holidays.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact Troy Chapman at 817-292-4551 or email him at troy@genesisumc.com.

Thank you for supporting Genesis!
