Word from Co-Pastors

We will be on vacation this week, visiting family in Florida. This is the Thanksgiving trip we postponed due to Covid. We are hoping and praying for safe travels and renewing, relaxing time with family!

As we continue in our "Life-Transforming" series this Sunday, we are excited to welcome Rev. Margret Fields to Genesis UMC. Margret is the pastor of Project-44, a local ministry currently housed at Everman UMC. She is also a licensed counselor (LPC) and counseling supervisor. We are grateful to have Margret with us and look forward to what she will share!

Also, please make plans to be with us for Holy Week. Please see service details below and look for more information in the coming days. Have a wonderful week!

Music Moments
This Sunday we will be singing and talking about Gratitude. Obviously, one of the things I am most grateful for in life is music and I guess I’m in good company because Martin Luther had very strong convictions about the use and power of sacred music! He said, “If any man despises music…for him I have no liking; for music is a gift and grace of God, not an invention of man.”

For the Prelude Sunday the Handbell ensemble will play Luther’s “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God,” which was the single most powerful hymn of the Protestant Reformation Movement. This hymn became the battle cry of the people, a great source of strength and inspiration even for those who were martyred for their convictions. It has been translated into practically every known language and there are sixty English versions alone!

What are you grateful for today? If you need some inspiration, here is a great contemporary song - Grateful | Official Lyric Video | Elevation Worship - YouTube

On Sunday, March 21 at 7pm the streamed Lent/Easter Contemporary Music Program will also be open for anyone to attend live! We would love to see you there in person! More details to follow.

See you Sunday! - Robyn

Phone Problems

The church office is experiencing technical difficulties with the phone system. If you have tried calling the office after hours you have experienced this issue. Please be patient with us as we work through this problem. If you call the church office during the day, and don't get through, please try again. Currently, the voice mail system isn't working, nor is the rollover feature which allows us to receive more than one phone call at a time. We are working with our phone company and will update you on our progress. In the meantime, we kindly ask for your patience.

Generosity Notes
Memorial Fund

The Memorial Fund allows you to remember or honor a person or event by providing funds for a current ministry of the church. To offer a memorial or honor gift, you may contact the church, mark a gift accordingly or go to our website, www.genesisumc.com
Genesis offers electronic giving, which allows you to make donations on a scheduled, automatic basis. To set up electronic contributions, (checking or savings account or credit or debit card) you can come by the church office and complete an authorization form or go to the church website and give online.

Another great way to give is with a quick text message! Simply send a text to 817-697-2824 with the amount you would like to contribute. Make sure to include the dollar sign before the amount. Within a few minutes, you’ll be sent a text with a link to register. Once your registration is complete you will receive a text verification and a receipt via email.

It is important to know that we can depend on financial support from our congregation members to continue the missions that Genesis provides to so many, as we go through the summer, fall and upcoming holidays.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact Troy Chapman at 817-292-4551 or email him at troy@genesisumc.com.

Thank you for supporting Genesis!
