Genesis News and Notes
March 25, 2021
The Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, probably the most significant week of the Church year. You may or may not feel like this Lenten season has been “life-transforming” for you. As we said on Ash Wednesday, the entire last year may have seemed like an extended Lent for you—wandering in a wilderness called the pandemic.

Yet the purpose of Lent is to lead us to the Cross and ultimately Resurrection and New Life. So, as we enter this most significant of weeks - when we celebrate the coming King, gather around the table, gaze upon the cross, and find hope in the empty tomb - we encourage you to continue in your journey with Jesus and stay focused on Jesus' work in you. How has God been with you in the wilderness? Have you asked or allowed the Holy Spirit to change you? Where do you still desire to grow in faith?

See you Sunday in person or online - and hopefully other times this week as well!

Crowley House of Hope New Van and Expanded Service Areas
We Did It!
Crowley House of Hope purchases a "new to us" van.

When we work together, we can accomplish anything for the community of Crowley, and we did! Crowley House of Hope has purchased a "new to us" van to help us serve our neighbors.

The original plan was to purchase a box truck, but as plans go, they sometimes change. Late last year Tarrant Area Food Bank began to offer a delivery service for partner agencies. Crowley House of Hope quickly took advantage of this option, therefore, diminishing the need for a box truck. Although the need changed, a reliable vehicle for weekly donations, seasonal program activities, and community events were still necessary. And so, the hunt for a suitable van began. This 2019 Ford Transit van with only 15,000 miles will meet our needs for many years to come. And, in true Crowley House of Hope form, the purchase is making a difference far beyond our expectations. Thank you to everyone who supported this effort with a financial donation. Your generosity is a gift for those we serve.

Elizabeth Becker was the quest speaker for United Methodist Men in February announcing they had expanded their service areas to cover all of Zip Codes 76133 and 76140. This allows for emergency assistance funds available to clients around Genesis and Everman areas.

Crowley House of Hope serves as the beacon of hope for the community of Crowley and the Crowley Independent School district along with Southwest Fort Worth by providing food and financial assistance, medical and counseling services and seasonal outreach programs in an atmosphere of dignity and respect.

The April Food Donation Focus will be Canned Fruit .These items can be dropped off in the Genesis Collection Containers or in the Church Office or make cash donations on-line or by check with memo Outreach – Crowley House of Hope.

. . . . . . .to Kathy Boomer and Sharron Drury for adding some cute decorations to spruce up the children's welcome desk area. The colorful kites and flags make this area fun for children once we return to additional children's activities. We appreciate all the effort that went into this project.
Phone Problems

The church office is experiencing technical difficulties with the phone system. If you have tried calling the office after hours you have experienced this issue. Please be patient with us as we work through this problem. If you call the church office during the day, and don't get through, please try again. Currently, the voice mail system isn't working, nor is the rollover feature which allows us to receive more than one phone call at a time. We are working with our phone company and will update you on our progress. In the meantime, we kindly ask for your patience.

Generosity Notes
Memorial Fund

The Memorial Fund allows you to remember or honor a person or event by providing funds for a current ministry of the church. To offer a memorial or honor gift, you may contact the church, mark a gift accordingly or go to our website,
Genesis offers electronic giving, which allows you to make donations on a scheduled, automatic basis. To set up electronic contributions, (checking or savings account or credit or debit card) you can come by the church office and complete an authorization form or go to the church website and give online.

Another great way to give is with a quick text message! Simply send a text to 817-697-2824 with the amount you would like to contribute. Make sure to include the dollar sign before the amount. Within a few minutes, you’ll be sent a text with a link to register. Once your registration is complete you will receive a text verification and a receipt via email.

It is important to know that we can depend on financial support from our congregation members to continue the missions that Genesis provides to so many, as we go through the summer, fall and upcoming holidays.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact Troy Chapman at 817-292-4551 or email him at

Thank you for supporting Genesis!
