Word from Co-Pastors
Dear church,

Many of you undoubtedly heard the news on Tuesday of Governor Abbott announcing an executive order ending the statewide mask mandate and establishing Wednesday, March 10, as the date when businesses and others are allowed to resume 100% capacity if they choose to do so. In light of this announcement, we want to share an update of where we are with our COVID-19 protocols and expectations.

In short, our policies as a church will remain unchanged for now. We will continue requiring the wearing of masks, social distancing, and the observance of other protocols to ensure we mitigate the continued spread of COVID-19 while people are still waiting to receive the vaccine. We have asked our Board of Trustees to include this item for discussion at their next regularly scheduled meeting, and we will continue to communicate with all of you if/when we as a church make the decision to change our current protocols and expectations. We also want to draw your attention to Bishop Lowry's response to Gov. Abbott's announcement. Read it by clicking here

Please know that you are welcome to join us in-person for worship! The overwhelming feedback we have received from those attending worship in person is they feel very safe with the masks and distancing protocols in place. We are blessed with a large space and are easily able to spread out when we gather together. And of course, we continue to support the decision of those who want to stay home and join with us online.

It is not our desire nor our intention to be political in this matter; rather, we want to be mindful of those in our midst who are still vulnerable. We don't want to inadvertently put others at risk. If you wish to discuss this further, please feel free to reach out to either of us for more conversation. Thank you all for your patience, your perseverance, and your continued concern for each other and our larger community.

Grace and Peace,
Pastors Amber & Paul

To Be or Not to Be Genesis Garage Sale
We have been exploring the topic of whether we can safely host our annual garage sale this year. Since volunteers are an integral part of the process we will need to explore our options. As anyone who has staffed our annual garage sale can attest, without volunteers, we don’t have enough resources to get the job done.
Troy Chapman and Linda Walker have been exploring ways in which we could have a garage sale but on a smaller scale. We would like to have your input. If you are interested in participating or have some suggestions about this, we would love to hear from you. We will host a Zoom meeting on Wednesday, March 10 at 2:00 PM and give you the opportunity to put in your two cents.
Please email Linda Walker at if you would like to receive an invitation to the Zoom meeting.

Music Moments
Continue to send music suggestions to me! As we continue to explore life transforming moments both in Jesus’ ministry and today in our lives, if you have any old or new songs that have in some way provided a life-transforming moment for you, I would like to feature them in Music Moments through the middle of March. Please send your song information to
Calling all contemporary singers and instrumentalists! You may be familiar with the Hymn-Sings and Christmas program we streamed in 2020 and now we are going to stream a Lent and Easter contemporary song service Sunday night, March 21! Please contact me at the e-mail above if you are interested in participating! Let’s see some new faces on the stream!!

See you Sunday! - Robyn
Preparing to launch our high school Seniors!
We have several seniors who are preparing to transition from home and high school into their next chapter. So we've created a "Senior Transitions" small group that will aim to help them with the process.

We will be learning some "practical adulting" stuff together- and we could use your help! Want to share some easy recipes and show them how to use a crock pot? Want to provide some basic personal finance info on budgeting, credit cards, etc? Want to give them some basic car maintenance skills? This is a good inter-generational opportunity to help connect with and invest in our young people.

If you want to help, please contact Pastor Paul or Debbie Branch. Thanks!

Phone Problems

The church office is experiencing technical difficulties with the phone system. If you have tried calling the office after hours you have experienced this issue. Please be patient with us as we work through this problem. If you call the church office during the day, and don't get through, please try again. Currently, the voice mail system isn't working, nor is the rollover feature which allows us to receive more than one phone call at a time. We are working with our phone company and will update you on our progress. In the meantime, we kindly ask for your patience.

Generosity Notes
Memorial Fund

The Memorial Fund allows you to remember or honor a person or event by providing funds for a current ministry of the church. To offer a memorial or honor gift, you may contact the church, mark a gift accordingly or go to our website,
Genesis offers electronic giving, which allows you to make donations on a scheduled, automatic basis. To set up electronic contributions, (checking or savings account or credit or debit card) you can come by the church office and complete an authorization form or go to the church website and give online.

Another great way to give is with a quick text message! Simply send a text to 817-697-2824 with the amount you would like to contribute. Make sure to include the dollar sign before the amount. Within a few minutes, you’ll be sent a text with a link to register. Once your registration is complete you will receive a text verification and a receipt via email.

It is important to know that we can depend on financial support from our congregation members to continue the missions that Genesis provides to so many, as we go through the summer, fall and upcoming holidays.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact Troy Chapman at 817-292-4551 or email him at

Thank you for supporting Genesis!
