Visa North Dakota Grants

Williston Economic Development - Williston, N.D. – IFundWomen (IFW) has announced two Williston businesses have received $10,000s from its Visa North Dakota Grant Program. Anna’s Groom Room and Style Uncorked Boutique will each receive a $10,000 grant and one-year Annual Coaching Membership on IFW. Anna Denton, owner of Anna’s Groom Room, learned about the grant program at the Hello North Dakota Visa Small Business Roadshow August 13 at Meg-A-Latte – The Loft. Denton said she applied for the grant at the lunch and learn workshop. Read More
Genesis breaks ground at Williston Square

Williston Herald - It was a chilly North Dakota morning, but that didn't stop the excitement happening at Williston Square. Lenny and Miranda Johnson were joined by family, friends and City of Williston leaders as the group broke ground for Genesis, Williston Square's first retail offering. "In 2010, Shawn (Wenko) and I were in a white suburban driving around Williston looking for a place. Now, fast forward to 2021, and here we are building our own facility," Lenny Johnson commented. Read More

Mini Match Monday to feature Candy Crate
on October 25

Williston Economic Development - The Candy Crate will be featured in next week's Mini Match Monday. Martie Abell, owner of the business, will be highlighted on Williston Economic Development's social media sites on Monday, October 25. Abell noticed that Williston didn’t have a place where people could get unique and tasty candy, so she decided to open her own place. “So many people travel to Williston. I wanted adults and kids to look forward to coming and be able to get unique candy. It gives them something to look forward to when they come to visit,” said Abell. Learn more about the project on Facebook and Instagram next week.
Workforce Shortages hamper Aviation Industry

NewsDakota.com - North Dakota’s eight commercial service airports posted almost 75,000 airline passenger boardings during the month of September 2021. This is a 90% increase from September 2020 but is still 16% below September 2019’s pre-pandemic airline boarding counts. While enplanements are rising, known challenges exist such as an inability to add additional flights due to staff shortages and the sluggish business and government travel due to persisting COVID-19 concerns. Watford City Airport re-opens

News Release - The Watford City Municipal Airport is now open again after undergoing a $24 million upgrade which saw its runway fully reconstructed and realigned. The expansion increases the runway's length from 4,400 feet to 6,550 feet. Also included is a new parallel taxiway. These improvements will allow for use by larger planes and for improved safety.
Williston Square Update Meeting October 27

News Release - The City of Williston will host a Williston Square Update Meeting from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27 at the Williston Area Recreation Center. The meeting will include updates on construction progress, retail, and the Sanford Health project.
