I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend. The weather has been spectacular here on the coast. The forecast for the coming week is more sunshine and clear skies. Norine has arrived and is adjusting to the local almost-non-existent pace of life.

In previous newsletters I have included explanations of some of the many unique terms used in the quilting world. I have been asked (really!) to add to these knowledge nuggets and explain the term "cross-cut". To cross-cut is to cut fabric across the grain as opposed to a rip-cut which is to cut the fabric along the grain. I believe this explanation to be reasonably accurate as it is direct from Google with their word "wood" replaced by the word "fabric" by me. You're welcome!
