The Firm is pleased to announce that George Arceneaux is the 2021 recipient of the Liskow & Lewis Diversity Champion Award. Liskow & Lewis created this award to recognize Liskow lawyers who make substantial contributions to the advancement of diversity and inclusion. Recipients for this award are chosen based on participation in the recruiting, mentoring, and training of diverse lawyers; time devoted to diversity efforts with external organizations on behalf of the Firm; and/or outstanding commitment to addressing issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
George was selected to receive this award because of his genuine interest in promoting diversity. George consistently staffs diverse teams and provides meaningful mentorship and development opportunities equally to all. Diverse lawyers who have worked with George share that they feel valued for their differences and consider him not only a colleague but a mentor and a friend.
“George has been an instrumental advocate for diversity at Liskow for many years and in many ways. He has shown consistent commitment throughout his tenure on the Firm’s Board of Directors, his long-term service on the Diversity Committee, and most importantly, through his strong mentorship of diverse attorneys of all kinds. George actively engages with clients on diversity-related training and community service projects. He often works “behind the scenes” supporting and encouraging the work of others in this space. His impact is a lasting one, both in terms of the example he has set and the diverse talent he has developed. There is no one more deserving of being recognized with the Firm’s inaugural Diversity Champion Award,” shared Tiffany Davis, the Firm’s Chief Diversity Officer and Chair of the Diversity Committee.
Liskow & Lewis believes diversity, equity, and inclusion are much more than a statement. The Firm is constantly introducing new initiatives to promote and retain diverse attorneys and to promote and ensure an inclusive work culture. Our pursuit of inclusion encompasses gender equality, ethnic diversity, disabilities, and the acceptance of individual lifestyle choices and expressions.
