Message from Jan Moran, Chairman and President
George Gadson and Jan Moran
Following the close of a milestone year when Jim would have celebrated his 100th birthday, it is truly my pleasure to announce George Gadson as our 2018 recipient of The Jim Moran Foundation Award. Presented to recognize those who have a demonstrated history of giving back, George’s character of kindness and compassion encourages others to make a difference.

My husband knew George well -- and he very much admired his artistic work, generous heart and meaningful philanthropy. In fact, it was George who first collaborated with Jim to design and then cast the bronze sculpture given to recipients of this special award.

We appreciate the significant mark George is leaving in our community and thank him for continuing to share his artistic gifts in a way that empowers spirits and brings all of us together.

My best to you,
Jan Moran
Recognizing George Gadson
At a reception alongside family and close friends (pictured with his wife and daughter), George was honored with The Jim Moran Foundation Award.

In addition to the bronze sculpture, he received an unrestricted grant for $100,000 -- reflecting Jim Moran would have turned 100 in 2018 -- to the nonprofit of George's choice, Art-Turnatives for Building Communities.

George founded Art-Turnatives in 2010 to offer art experiences in communities that may not otherwise have access.
