Happy 2019! At the Latin America Leadership Program (LALP) we are more than excited to open this New Year and the many programs and activities that we have in store.
Last Tuesday we launched the 13
th
edition of our Global Competitiveness Leadership Program (GCL) with 36 amazing young leaders representing 16 Ibero-American countries. Our GCL2019s are bringing to Georgetown solid projects and ideas to further advance in the coming ten weeks, and to implement in their countries upon their return. As the new leaders of the region, they all share a passion; to work hard and positively transform their countries by providing solutions to some of the most pressing social, economic, and political challenges. We encourage you to mark your calendars and join us for the GCL Impact Award Ceremony/Pitch Showcase (March 28
th
) and GCL2019 Graduation (March 29
th
). This program is possible thanks to the generous support of Georgetown University's Latin American Board and the GCL Advisory Committee.
With the start of the New Year, we also opened nominations for the GCL Impact Award 2019. This annual award recognizes the commitment and impact of one GCL alumnus or alumna who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in promoting the multiplier effect in the Latin American region. We will be announcing the winner of this year GCL Impact Award 2019 on February 25, 2019. We encourage you to check our website for further news on this year's award winner.
