Jimmy Carter and Entrepreneurship
Two new virtual field trips are available from GPB, including a historic journey through the life of Jimmy Carter and an in-depth profile of five Georgia companies. Keep an eye out for our forthcoming Civil Rights virtual experience too!

Jimmy Carter follows the ongoing legacy of Georgia's native son from his boyhood in Plains through his first foray into local and state politics into his time in the White House and beyond. This virtual field trip includes historic photos and primary documents, interviews with Carter Center staff, stunning video histories, a panoramic view of the Oval Office, an interactive primary source timeline of President Carter's life, and a virtual tour of the Carter Presidential Library and Museum.

The Entrepreneurship in Georgia virtual field trip traces the history, growth, and impact of Aflac, The Coca-Cola Company, Delta Airlines, Georgia Power, and The Home Depot from their infancy to the multinational corporations they are today. Included are primary sources, interviews with CEOs, interesting facts, and informative connections to the meaning of the entrepreneurial spirit.

the Georgia Standards of Excellence and upgraded with more intuitive navigability and

as an engaging, game-based learning experience .  All of these digital resources come with primary sources, assessments, printables, discussion questions, and ideas for extension activities.  Additionally, our Education Matters blog consistently adds value
to our collection with tips and tricks for getting more from t he resources we provide.

Professional Development and Training
Free Sessions and Workshops for All Educators and Districts
Need support getting started with our digital collection? Want more in-depth training or teaching strategy ideas for integrating our resources into the classroom? Our Education Outreach team is here to help! As Georgia's trusted provider of free digital media for the classroom, Georgia Public Broadcasting's Education division offers free on-site professional development throughout the state on resources created by GPB as well as our partners PBS LearningMedia and Discovery Education.

With training available for all subject areas and grade levels, sessions can be as specific or as broad as possible to meet the needs of your district or individual school. Training may be focused on subject matter resources for specific grade levels, like Elementary STEM or Secondary Social Studies. Conversely, some of our recent topical sessions include trending issues in education, such as Developing Inquiry-Based Lessons with GPB's Digital Resources, Fostering Geo-Inquiry, or Enhancing Visual Literacy in the
ELA Classroom. Representatives Tracey Wiley for north Georgia and Michael Kuenlen for south Georgia are standing by - see our contact information below!
