We've put together a library of short webinars to guide users through our Georgia Studies digital collection. The series includes short tutorials about our teacher edition, virtual field trips, and Georgia Race Through Time game-based adventure. Each episode lasts thirty minutes or less!
There is even an additional tutorial to help users get started finding and utilizing the many wonderful resources fromPBS LearningMedia via their expanding partner network.
Did You Miss Okefenokee Swamp Live?
No Problem! We Archived Our Exploration to the Swamp
On May 3rd we went on a live expedition to the Okefenokee Swamp! We took questions from classes all across Georgia and tuned our ears to local experts who helped us uncover the beauty of the untamed wetland and witness the power of the mighty alligator.
But don't worry if you couldn't watch live. We've archived the entire experience, complete with vocabulary lists and resources for the classroom. Just go to GPB.org/swamp, where you will also find our previous Live Exploration to Gray's Reef. And if you would prefer to watch PBS LearningMedia, it is available there as well!
See You Over the Summer!
GPB will be on the road all summer along, participating in conferences and sharing the latest in education with you.
6/5 CCSD Technology Department Cobb InTech Conference
At the end of the school year, we know how difficult it can be to focus on building and delivering great lessons and instruction. Our partners PBS LearningMedia and Discovery Education have a myriad of resources to offer, but finding and integrating new materials can often seem daunting.
To help out, we've written two blogs explaining simple and efficient ways for utilizing both platforms to locate engaging resources. Our blog on PBS explains the content area search and our associated Google site for browsing collections. Also, don't forget our curated folder specifically for Georgia Studies teachers!
Our blog on Discovery Education details several different ways to search, including the browse-by-topic feature, the Spotlight on Strategies collection for supporting implementation, as well as the many virtual field trips and partners who have contributed hundreds of lessons and materials.
We want to hear from you!
