Pickens County Recognizes National Public Safety Telecommunications Week


Pickens County Chairman Kris Stancil was joined by City of Jasper Mayor Steve Lawrence to recognize the second week in April as National Public Safety Telecommunications Week. Telecommunications week honors the public safety communicators for their service to their community.

U.S. Representative Mike Collins Attends Annual Putnam County Government Fun Day


Rep. Collins recently visited with community leaders and elected officials in Putnam County. His visit coincided with the county's 2nd Annual Government Fun Day which they observe in honor of National County Government Month. 

Commissioner Alana Sanders Serves as Guest Panelist on NACo Behavioral Health Webinar


Newton County Commissioner Alana Sanders was selected to participate in the National Association of Counties' (NACo) behavioral health webinar as panelist. The webinar hosted a variety of commissioners from across the nation to discuss ongoing efforts to create access to justice and behavioral health services.

Cherokee County Unveils New Election and Voter Registration Office


The Cherokee County Elections and Voter Registration Office held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of their brand-new headquarters. The facility, located in Canton, boasts ample parking space and viewing areas, as well as more office and storage space to cater to the county's growing demands.

Douglas County Board of Commissioners Proclaim the Week of April 9 – 15 as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week



The Douglas County Board of Commissioners recently voted unanimously to proclaim April 9-15, 2023, as National Telecommunicators Week in Douglas County, Georgia. The proclamation honors public safety telecommunicators in Douglas County for their commitment, service, and sacrifice. Every year during the second week of April the telecommunications personnel within the public safety community are recognized nationally for their commitment to service.
