ACCG Welcomes 2025 Board of Managers Officers During Instillation Luncheon

The 2025 ACCG Board of Managers were recently sworn into at the Annual Conference in Chatham County. The new officers include (from left to right) Third Vice President Susan Andrews (Harris County), Second Vice President Carvel Lewis (Georgetown-Quitman County), First Vice President Marc DeMott (Colquitt County), and President Clinton Johnson (Dougherty County).

Panelists Share Personal Experiences on Disaster Preparedness

ACCG Executive Director Dave Wills moderated an afternoon discussion on disaster preparedness. Panelists shared their experience, and perspective, on the importance of preparedness, timely response, and the recovery process.

Public Works Team Ready to Respond to Natural Disasters

The Lowndes County Public Works team completed their specialized chainsaw training for responding to inclement weather. During the course, the team learned the importance of exercising safety around themselves, other team members, and nearby debris to reduce the risk of damage and injury on the job.

Habersham County Breaks Ground on Brand New Animal Shelter Facility

Habersham County officials held a special ceremony for the construction of the Habersham County Animal Care and Control Facility. The project was part of the SPLOST VII program supported by county voters in 2021. As a result of the approval for construction by the Habersham County Board of Commissioners, the upgraded animal shelter will provide better service for its community.

A Memorable Day for Paulding County

The 23rd Annual Touch a Truck event in Paulding County had one of the largest crowds in history as families gathered for excitement and hands-on fun. From the fire trucks and police vehicles to the construction and public works equipment, this year's turnout provided plenty of enjoyable moments for attendees both young and old.

ACCG County Legislative Forums

ACCG will be hosting the newly branded District Meetings beginning this June. Each meeting will offer opportunities for county officials and state legislators to engage in discussions on significant issues faced at the local level.
