Dougherty County to Celebrate National County Government Month in April


During the recent Dougherty County Commission meeting, Chairman Lorenzo L. Heard officially recognized April as National County Government Month (NCGM) with a county proclamation. Dougherty County will celebrate NCGM with outreach via their social media platforms to educate the community about all the functions of the county, the services they provide, and highlight their diverse group of employees.

Cusseta-Chattahoochee County Water Department Educates Students on County Water System


Cusseta-Chattahoochee County Water Department Director Russell Rhodes and Well Operator Josh Sikes had the pleasure of attending Career Day at Chattahoochee County Middle/High School on March 30, 2023. Students who stopped by learned how the water system works throughout the county, how water meters function, as well as how water samples are tested at the well sites to ensure the safety of water consumption.

Greene County Receives The Georgia Emergency Medical Service of the Year Award and Local Issuing Authority of the Year


The Georgia Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Association presented Greene County EMS with the coveted and prestigious award as the Emergency Medical Service of the Year for the State of Georgia during a statewide annual banquet. Greene County’s Building and Zoning Office was also recognized as the Local Issuing Authority of the Year by the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission during its annual conference.

Coweta County Unveils New Location


Coweta County held a ribbon cutting ceremony last week for its new facility, Coweta County at Shenandoah which will house the Tax Commissioner’s Office (Tag & Property Tax) and Elections & Voter Registration. This summer, the Department of Driver Services (DDS) and Veterans Service will move into the building. Coweta County will then be one of only a few counties in the state that houses the Tag Office & DDS in the same building. The new facility also offers a drive-thru to help with accessibility.

Lowndes County Board of Commissioners Recognize Animal Care and Control Officer Appreciation Week


Lowndes County has recognized the week of April 9-15 as Animal Care and Control Officer Appreciation week to celebrate the hardworking men and women in the county's Animal Care and Control Department. Like other public safety and law enforcement agents, Animal Care and Control personnel are devoted, compassionate people who risk their lives to ensure the safety and care of wild animals, pets, and people.  

Glynn County Holds Opening Day of T-Ball at Mallory Park


The Glynn County Parks and Recreation Department held opening day last weekend for kids t-ball. The annual opening day activities included bouncy castles, a DJ, speakers, parade, home-run derby, and more.
