Bryan County Responds to Major Damage after Tornado Strikes this Week
Governor Brian Kemp and his family visited Bryan County this week to survey the damage. They were provided with an overview from Emergency Services Chief Freddy Howell and County Chairman Carter Infinger from an emergency response trailer before heading out into the community to speak to residents facing widespread damage to their homes.
The changing weather pattern in Georgia this week brought major storms, flooding and even several tornados. Officials in Bryan County continue to assist residents and businesses impacted by the powerful tonado that touched down in their area. County facilities also were damaged, including the Commission office in Pembroke (pictured above) and the courthouse. The ariel photo (pictured left) shows the traditional trajectory of fallen trees following the touchdown caused by a tornado. The community has rallied around those who were impacted, conducting clean up efforts and feeding first responders and others.
