Bigfoot Helps to Promote Mask Wearing and Social Distancing in Carroll County
Carroll County Parks purchased two Bigfoot costumes and are asking the community to participate in a contest to name them. Because of the attention that it is generating, the county is also using Bigfoot to promote wearing masks! On Friday, Bigfoot visited John Tanner Park. He wore a mask and campers did not have to worry about him getting too close because as we all know... Bigfoot is not only the hide and seek champion, he is great at social distancing too!
Cairo - Grady County Census Back to School Bash
Grady County Family Connection Partnership recently teamed up with the Cairo-Grady County Census Campaign to host a Back to School Bash. They distributed 1,000 bags of school supplies and disseminated Census information.
Ta'kayah Bradshaw (pictured) was one of the students who volunteered to help stuff the bags. Census workers started going door to door this week and must complete their work by September 30. Remind your community how they can participate in the Census - find out more here.
Barrow County Recruits Protect their Flag
The Barrow County Emergency Services recruits stopped by the Historic Courthouse this week for new employee orientation. They are very protective of their flag; they get in trouble if someone takes it from them, so it goes with them wherever they go!
