Worth County Leaders Gather for Strategic Planning Workshop

The Worth County Economic Development Authority recently hosted its 2022 Leaders of Worth County Strategic Planning Workshop. ACCG County Consulting Services Associate Mary Beth Brownlee facilitated the program, which was the kick-off to a more long-term planning effort supported by Valdosta State University's Rural Development Institute.

Camden County and Cities Finalize LOST Distribution

The Camden County Board of Commissioners recently approved the Certification of Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) distribution. The certificate will be sent to the mayors of KIngsland, St. Marys and Woodbine to be fully executed. The group has been meeting since June to finalize the sales tax distribution which will be in place for the next ten years.

Floyd County Receives Recognition at State APWA Awards

Representatives from Floyd County recently attended the American Public Works Association (APWA) awards banquet. The State Chapter recognizes oustanding leadersihp for employees, managers and projects. Eric Sexton (left) received the Manager of the Year for Public Right of Way, Jamie McCord (center) received the Project of the Year (<$5 millon), and Brad Walker received the Manager of the Year for Public Fleet - which was accepted by Ben Brooks (right).

ACCG Hosts Second Round

of Policy Committee Meetings

The ACCG Policy team completed the second round of Policy Committee meetings this week in Tift County. ACCG Deputy Legislative Director Todd Edwards led the discussion during the General County Government Committee meeting. These meetings are held each summer to provide county officials with the opportunity to provide input on legislative priorities and issues of concern.

South GeorgiaLEADS

Welcomes New Class

Twenty-eight participants from across South Georgia have committed to investing in the future vitality and sustainability of the region by participating in the 2022-2023 class of South GeorgiaLEADS. This program links community leaders and engages them in the economic develompent planning process. These individuals are then challenged to foster change and growth and create strategies for collaboration across South Georgia. ACCG County Consulting Associate Mary Beth Brownlee helped to coordiate the launch retreat for this year's class.

You just never know where you will see ACCG! ACCG First Vice President and Baldwin County Chairman Henry Craig recently traveled to Amsterdam, Germany and the Netherlands, representing Georgia counties well by wearing his ACCG mask!
