Spalding County Finds Creative Ways
to Engage Seniors
The Spalding County Senior Center isn't letting COVID-19 slow them down. They have adapted their programming to incorporate face coverings and social distancing. From fishing and tai' chi to playing with clay and more, they have many programs for seniors in their area. To see more, click here.
Promoting Census Participation
in Jeff Davis County
Jeff Davis County continues to encourage Census participate in their community using some of the state's turnkey marketing resources and assistance from local youth. It's important for counties to continue to encourage Census participation through the end of September.
Hall County GCIP Intern Transitions
to Part-Time Position
Georgia County Internship Program (GCIP) participant Ariel Alexander interned at the Hall County Juvenile Court this summer. Alexander is a political science student at the University of North Georgia and was the recipient of the Joan Garner Health and Human Services Intern Award. ACCG Lifelong Learning Academy Welcomes Commissioners Back to
In-Person Classes in Troup County
The ACCG Lifelong Learning Academy was back in action last week at Great Wolf Lodge in Troup County. As you can see, Leadership Institute were still able to fully engage in this interactive class. Participants wore face coverings and were spaced apart to facilitate social distancing. Watch for more opportunities to participate in Lifelong Learning Academy classes this fall!

in Legal CLE to Learn More
about Coronavirus
ACCG and the Georgia Municipal Association Legal Departments recently hosted a continuing legal education webinar called "Good Governance in the Time of Coronavirus." Representative Barry Fleming (also a county attorney) as well as Chief Justice Harold Melton were among the presenters.
