Baldwin County to Open Onsite
Health Clinic for Employees
Baldwin County is opening an onsite wellness clinic for county employees at the county government building. The county is providing this benefit at no cost to employees, including no co-pays. The clinic will provide medical education and chronic disease management as well as services for acute/episodic visits. Services will be provided by Synergy Healthcare USA, LLC, a clinic management company that partners with governments and businesses seeking to provide wellness solutions to their employees by bringing healthcare onsite to their place of employment.
Forsyth County Eagle Scout Recognized for Significant Achievement
The Forsyth County Commission recently recognized Omkar Tamhane, a rising junior at Lambert High School and Eagle Scout, for completing all 137 merit badges through the Boy Scouts of America. Less than 500 scouts in history have achieved this honor.
Fulton County and Cities Sign MOU to Extend the TSPLOST Referendum
The Fulton County Board of Commissioners and mayors of the county's cities signed an MOU this week requesting a referendum to extend the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST) for another 5 years. If passed by the county's voters, the 2021 TSPLOST is expected to generate approximately $545.9 million for congestion relief, roadway projects, safety improvements, bridges, quick response repairs and more.
Habersham County Manager Phil Sutton Retires
Congratulations to Habersham County Manager Phil Sutton on his recent retirement! Sutton had served as county manager since September 2013. He is credited with working on two successful SPLOST referendums, stabilizing the Habersham Medical Center, encouraging expanded public information through social media, leading the county during the COVID-19 pandemic and much more. ACCG thanks you for your service and wishes you the very best!

About Melanie:  Melanie is new to the run/walker lifestyle, but was fortunate to participate in her first and only marathon prior to the pandemic. Some of her hobbies include volunteering at Furkids cat shelter, crafting - her current passion is knitting - and participating in local 5/10k runs and occasional half marathons. Melanie and her husband of 22 years have a full house. They have a son entering 9th grade (yikes), a daughter starting 5th grade, dogs, cats, a bunny and a couple of fish.
