Troup County Public Safety Departments Support Toys for Tots


Troup County Fire Department and the Troup County Sheriff's Office participated in the Toys for Tots initiative to provide gifts for kids in need during the holiday season. Both entities worked together to assemble and donate more than 10 bikes to local kids in need.

Two Floyd County Officers Graduate from Georgia Law Enforcement Command College


The Floyd County Police Department recently announced the graduation of Pfc. Mike Bell and Sgt. William Wacker from the Georgia Law Enforcement Command College at Columbus State University. Both officers will bring their new Master's Degree in Public Safety Administration to their role in Floyd County.

Bryan County Commissioners Attend Local Christmas Parades

This month, Bryan County commissioners actively engaged with the community by participating in local Christmas parades. The City of Pembroke and the City of Richmond Hill hosted festive parades, and the commissioners were delighted to join the celebrations and distribute candy to the attendees.

Bulloch County Welcomes New Communications Director


Bulloch County is pleased to announce the appointment of Dal Cannady as its Communications Director. Dal has been part of the Statesboro-Bulloch County community for close to 40 years.


“This community has been my home for most of my life now. Over the decades, I’ve watched first-hand as it’s grown and flourished. I’m excited for this new role to help share the county’s achievements and help communicate how the county agencies serve their citizens," said Cannady.

Walker Launch Team

New Georgia College and Career Academy Coming to Walker County


Gov. Brian Kemp recently announced that a new College and Career Academy will be coming to Walker County. The new initiative, named Walker Launch, was created through a partnership between Walker County Schools and Georgia Northwestern Technical College to serve students in Walker and Dade counties. DeKalb County Commissioner and ACCG NACo Representative Larry Johnson Attends White House Holiday Reception

DeKalb County Commissioner and ACCG NACo Representative Larry Johnson traveled to the White House along with other NACo board members to attend the White House Holiday reception.


“I am honored to attend this event at the White House in honor of the spirit of celebration,” said Commissioner Johnson. “It is imperative that we continue to work with our federal, state, and local leaders to help us move forward and develop the best possible solutions for all humankind.”
