Talbot County Joins Local Christmas Celebration

Talbot County Commissioners and the Talbot County Manager participated in the first annual Christmas on the Square celebration. The commissioners were excited to be in the parade where they served hot chocolate, coffee, and cookies to attendees.

Walker County Launches Time Capsule Campaign

To celebrate Walker County's 190th anniversary, the Board of Commissioners launched the "2023 Note to Self Time Capsule" campaign. The campaign encourages residents to write a letter to their future self for inclusion in a time capsule. The time capsule will be stored unopened at the Walker County Civic Center until the county's 200th Anniversary on December 18, 2033.

Cherokee County Unveils New Coroner Facility

Cherokee County has officially opened its new Coroner's office. The new facility was funded by the county's Special Purpose Local Options Sales Tax (SPLOST). The building is 1,720 square feet and features three offices for the coroner, deputy coroners, and support staff along with an examination room and a garage with coolers.
