Georgia County Commissioners Share Greetings from NACo Board of Directors Meeting

Georgia NACo Board Representatives - Forsyth County Commissioner Cindy Mills, DeKalb County Commissioner Larry Johnson, and Chatham County Commissioner Helen Stone -attended the recent NACo Board of Directors meeting and briefly shared what they are doing at the national level to advocate for Georgia's 159 counties.

Habersham County Commissioner Receives 2023 Elected Official of the Year Award


At the Georgia Mountains Regional Commission’s (GMRC) Annual Meeting held at the Dillard House on Friday, December 1, 2023, Habersham County Commissioner Palmer was presented the 2023 Elected Official of the Year Award. Chosen annually by the senior management staff of the GMRC, the award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated leadership, support, and vision for the Georgia Mountains Regional Commission.

ACCG Hosts Winter Board of Managers Meeting

The ACCG Board of Managers held its 2024 winter meeting in Hall County where they received updates from the ACCG managers. Also in attendance, and pictured with ACCG President Henry Craig, was Georgia Insurance Commissioner John King.

Chattooga County Awards Grants to Local Small Businesses


The Chattooga Chamber, UGA Extension, and Young Farmers partnered with Chattooga County on the Post Covid Recovery Small Business and Farm Grants offered by the County. Teloga Springs Farm and HF Farm were awarded at the Farm City Week Breakfast while Romine's Body Shop was awarded at the Commissioner's Administrative Meeting.

In Memoriam: Remembering Georgia's Late County Officials

To honor and preserve the memory of the county leaders who are no longer with us, ACCG has released a quarterly memorial list.
