Columbus-Muscogee Councilwoman Toyia Tucker Plants Trees in Honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.


Columbus-Muscogee Councilwoman and ACCG Board Member Toyia Tucker, along with several community volunteers and Trees Columbus, planted trees in her district in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Trees Columbus was awarded $900,000 from the Georgia Forestry Commission (GFC) Trees Across Georgia Grant Program. The funds will be used to launch the new "Grow Shade" park canopy restoration project in Columbus-Muscogee County.

Cusseta-Chattahoochee County Community Development Department Donates to Elena Amos Breast Cancer Center

The Cusseta-Chattahoochee County Community Development Department and the 2024 River Rock Dog Rescue presented a check to the Elena Amos Breast Care Center in Columbus-Muscogee County. The donation was funded by the Cusseta-Chattahoochee County Pink Out event held in October for breast cancer awareness. Funds will be used for patient care packages.

Cherokee County Recognizes E-911 Dispatchers for Lifesaving Efforts


Cherokee County honored E-911 dispatchers in an awards ceremony for their crucial contributions to saving the lives of 17 individuals in 2023. During that year, dispatchers offered CPR instructions over the phone a total of 1,771 times.

Forsyth County Departments Receive State and National Recognition


The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners acknowledged two county departments during a recent meeting for their exceptional contributions. The Forsyth County Department of Public Transportation received the Innovation Award from the Georgia Transit Association. Additionally, the Forsyth County Department of Senior Services earned national accreditation from the National Council of Aging for meeting standards of excellence for senior centers.
