Several metro-Atlanta area county commissioners participated in the Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless day of service on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. This year marked the 50th anniversary of this event and over 1,000 families received food, fresh produce, blankets, PPE and other supplies.
DeKalb County Commissioner Larry Johnson, who is also First Vice President of the National Association of Counties and an ACCG Board member, is pictured (top left) with CEO of Hosea Helps Elisabeth Omilami. Omilami noted requests for emergency rent assistance is up 400% and emergency food assistance is up 300% since the onset the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fulton County Vice Chairman Natalie Hall and Commissioner Khadijah Abdur-Rahman also participated in the event by distributing supplies.
