ACCG President Pays Respect to Former President Carter


ACCG President and Toombs County Chairman Davis Sikes traveled to Washington, D.C., to attend the National Council of County Association Executives and Presidents Conference. While there, he waited in line for 4.5 hours to pay his respects to former President Jimmy Carter, who was lying in state in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda.

Gwinnett Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson was surrounded by family during her swearing in ceremony. Making history in 2020 as the first African American to hold the position in her county, she reaffirmed her dedication to fostering an inclusive and thriving community.

Whitfield County Holds Swearing in Ceremony for Sheriff-Elect 


Sheriff-Elect Darren Pierce was officially sworn in as the new Whitfield County Sheriff, bringing nearly 20 years of law enforcement experience to his new role. Pierce expressed his commitment to serving the community with trust and integrity.

Wayne County Commissioners Join State Leaders at Eggs & Issues Breakfast

Wayne County Commissioners Kevin McCrary and Randy Franks attended the Chamber’s Eggs & Issues Breakfast, alongside state representatives Steven Meeks, Buddy Deloach, and Senator Blake Tillery. The event facilitated discussions on important state and community issues, ensuring Wayne County's voice remains strong and active in shaping Georgia's future.

Cusseta-Chattahoochee County Honors Late Commissioner with a Proclamation


Cusseta-Chattahoochee County posthumously honored the late Commissioner James "Jim" Lawrence with a proclamation recognizing his love, dedication, and commitment to the county. His family received the proclamation during a recent board of commissioners meeting.

Liberty County Holds New Commissioners Orientation


Liberty County Administrator Joey Brown and staff met with newly elected Commissioner C. Timmy Blount for a new commissioner's orientation. The county’s eleven department/division directors provided insights into their department's role, responsibilities, and future initiatives.

WNBA Legends Train Next Generation Athletes in Henry County


Young athletes in Henry County received hands on training with WNBA legends during the Play Like a Girl basketball skills clinic. The clinic offered by PAL - Police Athletic League and Henry County Parks and Recreation helps players develop their basketball skills.

GCIP Interns Gain Legal Experience in Fayette County

Two second-year University of Georgia law students, Dresden Day and Abigail Nand, interned in Fayette County's judicial system. Dresden worked with Judge Thompson in the State Court, handling her own case and finalizing orders for the judge, while Abigail interned with the Public Defender, participating in court proceedings and advocating for clients.
